Costs of Growing Grain Corn
The latest calculations by the Wielkopolska Chamber of Agriculture show that the total costs amount to PLN 10,982. In turn, revenues were calculated at PLN 6,601. The financial result was therefore calculated at minus PLN 4,381.

What were the costs of growing grain corn in earlier years?
The calculations from June 2023 indicated costs reaching over PLN 10,500, and revenues of PLN 7,367. This means that the crop was also in the red then, and yet the area of corn cultivation compared to the previous record year, when it reached approx. 1.9 million ha, did not decrease significantly, because currently for all corn it is approx. 1.815 million ha.
In April 2022, WIR calculated that the cultivation of 1 ha of grain corn cost PLN 10,072, and the income was PLN 14,121. This means that the financial result was then in excess of PLN 4,000. However, it must be remembered that this was a very specific year, and there were many months left from April to the harvest of grain corn, and the situation was very volatile.
