Criticism of the German Ministry of Agriculture (BMEL) continues
Last week, the German Farmers' Association, the Raiffeisen Association and the Animal Food Association called on the federal government to better coordinate the actions of authorities in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate.
Now the Federal Cattle and Swine Association (BRS) has followed suit. Calls on BMEL to implement unpopular measures. For reasons of animal welfare and to avoid further spread of the disease, the killing of all pigs in the infected zone should be authorized.
As said by the managing director of BRS, Dr. Nora Hammer, BMEL must therefore advocate the possible killing of pigs in infected zones in Europe
