The accident occurred on the trail leading to the Breitenberg mountain, near Pfronten in the district of Ostallgäu, Bavaria. Cattle grazing in a mountain pasture attacked a group of tourists. The cows trampled two adult women and the 4-year-old son of one of them. Everyone suffered injuries and mountain rescuers transported them to hospital, Agrarheute reports.
According to the findings, calves ran up to the hikers. Cows attacked tourists fearing for their young. One of them knocked the intruders to the ground. Information from the mountain rescue service shows that the women are seriously injured and the boy has minor injuries. The police are looking for witnesses to the incident.
The media are alarming that this is not the first cow attack this summer. A few days ago, a cow charged at a famous mountain skier. At the end of June, a cow killed a mother who was walking with her daughter on a trail in the Gastein Valley in Salzburg.
