Discussions about whether to introduce a four-day workweek in Latvia or not resurfaced with renewed vigor at the beginning of last year. At that time, the public initiative portal "manabalss.lv" even collected more than 10,000 signatures in favor of this idea, and then it was discussed in the Saeima. However, while the issue has not yet advanced beyond discussion in parliamentary committees at the state level, there are already companies in Latvia that have decided to work four days a week on their own initiative.
