you should know about the disease
– unfortunately we don’t have information about new focuses of this disease in Germany, which is good information – said at a Thursday meeting with journalists Krzysztof Jażdżewski, General Veterinarian .
As reported, preventively has already executed all susceptible to flu animals in a radius of one kilometer from the farm, in which the focus of this disease has occurred.
From 10 January the total transfer of animals in all Brandenburg – added Krzysztof Jażdżewski.
This is important information, especially in the context of appearing questions about that, why Poland has not imposed a total embargo on imports of animals from Germany.
– First this is regulated quite precisely in law of Poland, a specifically in the law of protection of health of animals. There it is clearly written, that first, if even it introduces such a prohibition, then it must inform the European Commission, the state, which it affects and this prohibition may may be in force until the EU regulations are issued in this area. A the EU regulations were already issued on Monday (13 January – dop. editors). So if we introduced any prohibition in this area, from automat we would have to remove on Monday. For the second there was no completely sense to impose such a prohibition, for attention to that, that the Germans themselves have introduced to himself such a ban – dr Jażdżewski explained.
But this is about the prohibition of animal movement in Brandenburg. Should the prohibition apply to all Germany?
– We could. But we ourselves strongly argue in the world the necessity of regionalization. If we imposed a ban, oWhich we speak, we would have denied ourselves. We would shake ourselves with arguments for the future, in discussions, why other countries are blocking us, despite that there are ways to reduce trade losses through regionalization – added GLW.
Krzysztof Jażdżewski stated, that paradoxically – as long as what – before the eventual possible prevention of virus of pneumonia in the territory of Poland protected us… disease of blue tongue, a specifically a prohibition on the movement of cattle issued in conjunction with this disease.
Nevertheless, GLW has returned attention to the necessity of maintaining prevention. For there are still importing pigs from Denmark, for example.
But it is important also, to watch, where we source hay and straw for animals, because this can also be the source of infection with pimples. Dr. Jazd¿ewski also urged they to try to reduce to zero contact of people (visitors) with animals on
the farm. And especially today, with as we are today the weather: it is cool and humid, and
such conditions favor the spread of viruses.
– There will also have to think about vaccination against flu-addedGLWinformingatthatthereisalreadyincontactonthisissueamong others.among others, withtheEuropean Commission.
