As reported by Kluczbork 112, the fire broke out yesterday before noon in the fields in the Gotartów-Ogrodnictwa area, near Kluczbork. A spark from the combine harvester ignited the crop on the stump, and the strong wind spread the fire quickly.
Ten firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Department Kluczbork, the Volunteer Fire Department Kuniów, the Volunteer Fire Department Biadacz, the Volunteer Fire Department Kujakowice Górne, the Volunteer Fire Department Kujakowice Dolne, the Volunteer Fire Department Byczyna, the Volunteer Fire Department Łowkowice and the Volunteer Fire Department Bogacica were sent to the site. Farmers also came to the aid of firefighters and plowed strips of fields to stop the flames from spreading further. An additional water tanker had to be brought to the site.
Firefighters managed to control the fire, but about 25 hectares of standing grain burned. However, we managed to save 30 hectares in neighboring fields.
This was not the only fire in the fields that firefighters extinguished yesterday near Kluczbork. In Dobiercice they extinguished burning stubble fields, and the fire also reached the forest. 200 square meters of forest undergrowth and a hectare of stubble were burned. 13 fire brigades from the Kluczbork district were dispatched to extinguish the fire, additional water tankers were brought in, and a Dromader fire-fighting plane from the State Forests, which dropped water over the fire.
