A bill has been introduced to the State Duma to tighten liability for failure to notify about opening a business. They want to increase fines by 145% – at the rate of inflation since the adoption of the previous law.

The last time the law on fines for failure to notify the start of business activity was adopted back in 2010. Now the amount of fines is 3-5 thousand rubles for an official and 10-20 thousand rubles for a legal entity. They are proposed to be increased to 7–12 thousand rubles and 24–48 thousand rubles for officials and legal entities, respectively.

Entrepreneurs are subject to similar sanctions for providing false information. And for a repeated violation, fines will amount to 15–25 thousand rubles for officials and 40–60 thousand rubles for legal entities.

Trademark registration fees could increase by 70% .

Criminal liability will be established for the sale of tobacco and nicotine-containing products without labeling .
