This year, 274,744 companies were supposed to submit reports by June 30, but only 180,000 companies did so on time, writes Delovye Vedomosti .
Compared to last year, there has been some improvement in reporting, but this is only a few percent.
The Department of Justice estimates that companies do not file the report because it is too difficult to compile or because its importance is underestimated. Also, entrepreneurs often mistakenly believe that if there was no activity or the company is in the process of liquidation, reporting is not required, the ministry added.
For failure to submit a report, a fine may be imposed on the company: this can happen many times until the company fulfills its obligations.
