- The program is addressed to entrepreneurs who will invest in fermentation installations for separately collected bio-waste (including bio-waste from the fruit and vegetable industry, kitchen waste from the catering industry), food unsuitable for consumption, and sewage sludge.
- The financing will cover biomethane production installations with connection to the gas network and biogas production with a module for its purification into biomethane and/or further processing into a liquefied form (bioLNG) or highly compressed form (bioCNG) for use in transport.
- The program budget will amount to up to PLN 2 billion for non-repayable forms of funding and up to PLN 2 billion for repayable forms of funding.
- Financing in the form of a grant will amount to up to 50%. eligible costs, in the form of a loan – up to 100 percent eligible costs.
The aim of the "Improvement of energy security through the use of biomethane" program is to promote the production and use of biomethane in the fermentation process of separately collected bio-waste. The program will be implemented in the years 2024-2030.

Who is eligible for subsidies for biomethane production?
The planned program is addressed to entrepreneurs who will invest in fermentation installations for separately collected bio-waste (including bio-waste from the fruit and vegetable industry, kitchen waste from the catering industry), food unsuitable for consumption, and sewage sludge.
The financing will cover biomethane production installations with connection to the gas network and biogas production with a module for its purification into biomethane and/or further processing into a liquefied form (bioLNG) or highly compressed form (bioCNG) for use in transport.
The draft program also provides for co-financing of the expansion of existing installations with a module for purifying biogas into biomethane and/or further processing it into a compressed or liquefied form.
