Police officers are explaining the causes of a fatal accident that occurred on a farm in the Skierbieszów commune, Zamość poviat (Lubelskie Voivodeship). A man died while repairing a combine harvester.
According to police findings, the combine was repaired and prepared for harvest by three men, aged 55, 47 and 28. After completing the repair, the 55-year-old started the machine to check whether it works properly. Then the combine harvester suddenly moved, ramming the wall of the carport, and the wooden construction beam hit and crushed the man.
The others immediately rushed to the rescue, but it was too late to help the 55-year-old. As a result of his injuries, he died on the spot. The man's body was secured for autopsy. The prosecutor's office is determining the causes and circumstances of this tragic accident.
