This means that certificates issued in Russia for halal goods will be recognized abroad. This will open up new prospects for the export of domestic products. Today, the only body accredited by Rosakcreditatsiya whose certificates of conformity are accepted abroad is Roskachestvo-Halal.
"We are giving other halal certification bodies the opportunity to be accredited in the national accreditation system and receive recognition abroad for the certificates they issue. This will open up new development prospects for domestic entrepreneurs producing halal products," said State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexey Khersontsev .
The launch of the accreditation scheme for halal certification bodies is scheduled for September 2025. Confirmation of the competence of such structures by the state will help Russian halal producers when working in foreign markets. And Rosaccreditation will assist Russian exporters in terms of recognition by Islamic countries of certificates of conformity issued by accredited Russian halal certification bodies.
The halal certification body accredited by the Service has already been recognized by the Gulf countries. In May 2023, Rosakcreditatsiya signed an agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Counsel Accreditation Center (GAC) on joint accreditation of product certification bodies for halal standards. According to the scheme, the Service evaluates applicants according to secular criteria, and GAC – from the point of view of Islamic canons. This allows the manufacturer to obtain a certificate from a Russian certification body and, on its basis, supply halal goods to the Gulf countries. Roskachestvo-Halal became the first halal certification body to undergo joint accreditation and receive an international certificate.
