On July 8, the German company Helsing Ltd, which specializes in the use of artificial intelligence for defense purposes and has become a unicorn worth more than 1.5 billion euros in just a few years, established a subsidiary in Estonia, Helsing OÜ. The parent company promises to invest tens of millions of euros in it, writes Delfi Forte. Helsing, which was founded in 2021 and until recently operated mainly in Germany, France and the UK, has attracted investments from, among others, Spotify founder Daniel Ek and the Swedish heavy and defense industry concern Saab. Among other things, the company is equipping the Eurofighter fighter with a new electronic warfare capability based on artificial intelligence by 2028. Helsing and its consortium partners are also creating AI support for the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) program. Since 2022, the company has been providing AI support for military operations in Ukraine.
