Euribor's rapid decline has brought relief, but its real impact is yet to come

Быстрое снижение Euribor принесло облегчение, но его реальное влияние еще впереди

The six-month Euribor, which is important for those taking out a home loan, has fallen significantly since October last year, but its financial impact on borrowers is still insignificant, especially considering what awaits them next year, dv.ee writes. In October last year, the six-month Euribor peaked at around 4.14%. By today, it has fallen to 3.4%, but has occasionally fallen lower. Thanks to this decrease, the average borrower has around 50 euros more per month, and even more for those with larger loans. Anne Pärgma, Head of Mortgage Lending at Swedbank, noted that 93% of their clients with home loans have seen their payments fall to 100 euros since the end of October last year, 5% have seen their payments fall to 250 euros, and 3% of borrowers are paying 250 euros less. The average loan size in Swedbank's mortgage portfolio is 56,000 euros. Read more at dv.ee.
