
The European Union is considering a gradual ban on imports of aluminum from Russia as part of its next sanction package against Moscow. Also among the targets for the next set of sanctions are more oil tankers and more than a dozen banks, Bloomberg has reported, citing unnamed sources in the know. The aluminum ban will be phased in over a year, during which European buyers would be allowed to import it under quotas, before, a year from now, the ban comes into effect.
