As Peeter Kuum, commercial director and one of the owners of the furniture company Wermo in Võru, stated at the conference “Challenges of the Furniture Industry 2024”, they are among those furniture manufacturers who are currently doing well, dv.ee writes.
Kuum said the company doesn't sell its products to Scandinavia, and because of that – or in spite of that – they're doing well.
"The biggest achievement was that we eliminated intermediaries from the supply chain and started purchasing raw materials directly from manufacturers, and also entered the retail market with our final product. That is, we started selling through the Amazon platform both in the European and American markets. Our product is expensive and exclusive, and there is a great demand for it, but mass production for the European market is not sustainable, so it is better to produce less, but more expensively," said the head of Wermo.
