Minister of Regional Development and Agriculture Piret Hartman told Äripäev on Monday that the turnover tax on food could be changed and that the ministry is analyzing the consequences of a possible reduction in the turnover tax on food. The head of the Food Industry Association, Sirje Potisepp, wrote in a counter comment that in this case, simple math may not work and the tax reduction may not reach the consumer, while the state will recover the lost money through new taxes.
