Estonia’s defense industry is like a village of inventors: the competitive advantage of most companies is in original engineering developments and software created here. But there are some in the country and firms producing
weapons known for more than a hundred years.
According to the chairman of the council of the Union of Defense and Space Industries Estonia Taavi Veskimägi, total turnover of companies in the union, in the last year was 500 million euros. In this year further growth is expected thanks to a large government order for a some hundred million euros. Products produced within the framework of this order will be shipped to Ukraine for use in Ukraine.
