The retail chain Elvi and the AS Latvenergo brand for the construction of electric charging stations Elektrum Drive opened the first joint station for charging electric vehicles on Wednesday, June 19. It is located in Sigulda, on Darza Street. In total, customers are offered 4 connection points with a maximum charging power of 50 kW. By opening the first joint station, both companies thus announced the start of a joint project to develop a network of electric charging stations throughout Latvia. In total, during this and next year, 50 connection points will appear in 13 cities of Latvia – Adazi, Augsligatne, Kalngale, Jelgava, Ragan, Lielvarde, Vecpiebalga, Saulkrasti, Liepaja, Marupe, Ainaži, Zvejniekciems and Sigulda. The total investment in the project will be 2.2 million euros. In six months, Elektrum Drive has expanded its network by more than 100 new connections not only in Latvia, but throughout the Baltics. Thus, the network reached 674 connection locations. The turnover of the Latvenergo concern last year amounted to 2.034 billion euros, which is 10.4% more than the previous year. In turn, the group’s profit increased by 90.8% and amounted to 350.917 million euros. Elvi Latvija's turnover in 2022 amounted to 69.981 million euros, which is 50% more than a year earlier. In turn, the company's profit amounted to 268,383 euros; a year earlier there were losses. Data for 2023 has not yet been published.
