On December 25, the energy security of Estonia and the other Baltic states was again put to the test when the EstLink 2 power cable was sabotaged. Although it was a serious incident, another critical case – unilateral desynchronization of the Baltic States’ energy system initiated by Russia – could not be ruled out.
