The average cost of electricity in the Estonian price zone of the Nord Pool electricity exchange on Saturday compared to Friday will decrease by 34.2% to 100.69 euros per megawatt-hour.
The highest – 250.08 euros per megawatt-hour – exchange price for electricity will be on Saturday evening, from 19 to 20 hours, and the lowest – from 14 to 15 hours, when it drops to 6.41 euros per megawatt-hour.
In Latvia and Lithuania, electricity on Saturday will cost the same as in Estonia. In Finland it will be many times cheaper, on average 17.18 euros per megawatt hour. The highest price for electricity will be on this day in Poland – 104.50 euros per megawatt-hour.
In July, the average price in the Estonian Nord Pool price zone was 97.97 euros per megawatt-hour, which is 23.1% more than in July 2023, when the average monthly price was 79.56 euros per megawatt-hour. Compared to June, the average exchange price increased by approximately 6.9%. this year, the average monthly price was only higher in January, when it reached 126.48 euros per megawatt-hour.
On January 5, a record high cost of electricity was recorded in Estonia – on that day it averaged 890.54 euros per megawatt-hour. The previous daily price record dates back to August 17, 2022, when the average price in Estonia reached 682.05 euros, and within one hour reached 4,000 euros per megawatt-hour.
