Chocolate Museum in Warsaw. A Chance for Greater Wedel Exports
E.Wedel Chocolate Factory is a place dedicated primarily to chocolate, but also to the history of the Wedel family. For E.Wedel, it is also an important element of strategic development and going beyond the standard framework of a manufacturing company – it means diversification of the business, provides a new version of the brand and is an invitation to visitors to experience the world of chocolate products in a completely new version .
The new point on the map of the capital will provide entertainment, education and inspiration, enriching its cultural offer and emphasizing the status of E.Wedel as a symbol of Polish tradition and innovation in the world of sweets.
We are creating an innovative facility that not only presents the history and process of its production, but also becomes an educational and cultural center. We are convinced that the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory will attract both the local community, of which we are an integral part and an active participant, but also lovers of sweets from Poland and around the world – says Robert Zydel, director of the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory.
An exhibition that engages all the senses
A visit to this place will therefore be a multidimensional journey – visitors will immerse themselves in a world full of interactive exhibitions, smells, tastes and textures that will stimulate their senses. On the one hand, these will be unique aromas reaching them both from real production lines, which are part of the museum building, and chocolate exhibits, and on the other, the opportunity to try Wedel chocolate at two stages of the tour.
On each floor of the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory, guests will have the opportunity to discover the secrets of the chocolate creation process – from the selection of cocoa beans, through their roasting, to the final packaging of the finished product, as well as its history.
The museum will feature various zones, each representing a different stage of the chocolate production process. At the end of the visit, everyone will be able to stop for something sweet at the E.Wedel Chocolate Lounge Island located at the main entrance, and also visit the museum souvenir shop, where they will find a variety of gifts. A viewing terrace on the 6th floor will be available to all visitors.
The design of the new building was carried out by the architectural studio BiM Architekci. The exhibition at the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory was prepared by the WWAA Studio, and the multimedia content was provided by Lunapark Motion Arts Collective. The visual identification was created by Studio Homework, in consultation with Patryk Hardziej, a student of Karol Śliwka, the designer of the iconic packaging of Czekolada Jenej. The building, which includes both the museum and production sections, covers over 8,000 square meters. The cost of investment in the museum and production zones amounted to PLN 200 million. The company hopes that this will increase its recognition among tourists from abroad and ultimately increase exports from 5 to 10 percent of production.
