  • In June this year the value of the BaseLinker Index – an indicator measuring the comprehensive condition of Polish e-commerce – was 133 points (the initial value from January 2022 is 100 points). A month ago, the reading was 138 points, and a year ago it was 118 points.
  • Index data analysis, based on aggregated results of 3,000 leading e-commerce companies in Poland, shows that their online sales in June 2024 were higher than last year by as much as 12.6%. This result consists of 10.9 percent. an increase in the number of orders (y/y) and an increase in the average order value to PLN 196.1 (+1.5% y/y).
  • The June reading of the BaseLinker Index is distinguished by a decline in sales by 3.7%. This is due to a 4.7% decrease in the number of orders. with an increase in the average order value by 1%. Domestic sales y/y increased by 12 percent, while cross-border sales increased by 15.8 percent in the same period.

The data analyzed and aggregated in the BaseLinker Index shows that in June 2024 (year-on-year) the companies included in the index increased the level of sales by 12.6%, increasing the number of transactions made in this period by 10.9%. . The average value of their basket increased by 1.5%. (y/y) and amounted to PLN 196.1.

– Polish e-commerce showed high annual sales growth dynamics, which amounted to as much as 12.6%. It is still too early to talk about permanent acceleration, but it is worth emphasizing that this increase was greater than a year ago, when sales between June 2023 and June 2022 increased by 10.3%. – comments Łukasz Juśkiewicz, Head of Strategy at BaseLinker. – In terms of m/m in June we observed declines, but it should be remembered that June is traditionally a weaker month than May because it is shorter. Moreover, this year June had an exceptionally large number of weekend days, which are weaker for online trading.

Data indexing began in January 2022, when the BaseLinker Index value was set at 100, which is a reference point for readings from the subsequent months examined. Each of the 3 thousand companies included in the index managed their online sales using the BaseLinker system in January 2022 and had at least 250,000 PLN monthly GMV (Gross Merchandise Value, i.e. online sales). The index participants were updated in January 2024 to also include new, large enterprises that started using the system in 2022 and 2023. The data includes both companies selling in Poland and those selling cross-border.
