The average cost of electricity in the Estonian price zone of the Nord Pool on Saturday compared with Friday will drop
by 24% to 41.49 euros per megawatt-hour.
In Latvia and Lithuania electricity on Saturday will cost the same as in Estonia. In Finland its cost 10 times lower – 3.39 euros. The highest average price in the Nord Pool system will rise this day in Austria, where it is 135 euros per megawatt-hour.
The highest highest – 96.86 euros per megawatt hour – the exchange price for electricity will be in Estonia on Saturday evening, from 19 to 20 hours, and the lowest was on Saturday early morning, from 2 to 4 hours, when it dropped to 0.09 euros per megawatt-hour.
In December last year the average price in Estonia’s Nord Nord Pool was 84.28 euros per megawatt-hour, which is 5.3% fewer than in December 2023, when the average monthly price was 89 euros per megawatt-hour. Compared with November the average exchange price increased by 2.1 percent.
At the end of the year, the average exchange price of electricity was 87.27 euros per megawatt-hour, which is 3.9% fewer than in 2023 year.
On January 5, 2024 the year Estonia was record high in Estonia.The electricity price – on this day was averaging 890.54 euros per megawatt-hour. The previous daily price record dates to 17 August 2022 year, when the average price reached in Estonia 682,05 euros, and within one hour reached 4000 euros per megawatt-hour.
