DHL and Żabka are changing their cooperation model
The cooperation between DHL eCommerce Polska and Jeronimo Martins Polska emphasizes the commitment of both companies to an innovative approach to customer service, but above all, it brings specific benefits for users. Customers who use DHL eCommerce services will have access to an even larger network of collection and shipping points, including DHL BOX 24/7 parcel machines located at Biedronka stores owned by Jeronimo Martins Polska. In turn, Biedronka customers will be able to conveniently pick up or send their parcels at DHL machines on their way to or after shopping in the chain's stores.
– Currently, one of the most noticeable trends that strongly influences the courier delivery market is adapting the offer to the lifestyle and preferences of recipients. Customers often expect parcels to be delivered to their home, office or to a parcel machine located next to the store, where they plan shopping, wanting to deal with as many matters as possible, as conveniently, as quickly and preferably as possible in one place. Our response to this constantly strengthening trend is to build a strong network of parcel machines, located in places where customers can handle several matters at the same time. The partnership with Biedronka is an example of combining the forces of two strong brands that customers have trusted for years, says Anna Krauze, director of strategic e-commerce development at DHL eCommerce Polska.
According to the European Online Shopper Survey 2023 conducted by DHL, customers are increasingly willing to use parcel machines and parcel pickup and drop-off points, and the preference for home deliveries has dropped from 73% to 64%[1]. When it comes to the choices of Polish customers, data shows that half of Poles prefer to collect the ordered parcel at a vending machine. Thanks to the partnership between DHL eCommerce Polska and the Biedronka chain, customers can enjoy the convenience of shopping and handling parcels using vending machines in one place.

– Biedronka stores, especially those in smaller towns, are often the focal point of local life. This is where you can do comprehensive shopping for the whole family, buy local newspapers, send or pick up a parcel, and often even charge an electric car. In this way, we fulfill the strategic mission of being close to customers, not only by offering them the best prices, but by constantly expanding the offer of additional services in cooperation with our partners – comments Przemysław Jurowicz, director of real estate in the Biedronka chain.
As part of the first stage of cooperation, over 600 DHL BOX parcel machines equipped with a number of functions useful to customers have already been installed in Biedronka stores throughout Poland. The machines have intuitive touch screens and their operation is facilitated by the My DHL application. In addition to quick sending and receiving of parcels – also by remotely opening the locker – the application also allows you to track the status of the shipment and the courier's route on the day of delivery. In DHL machines, the parcel waits for collection for up to 4 days. This allows customers to better plan their day and more conveniently collect or send packages at any time, before or immediately after shopping at Biedronka. Cooperation with DHL means that Biedronka stores have a total of over 1,800 parcel machines from leading service providers throughout Poland.
DHL machines allow you to pay for shipment collection in the My DHL application, where electronic payment can be made via card, e-transfer and BLIK.
The DHL network currently includes 19,000 parcel pickup and drop-off points, including 3,500 DHL BOX 24/7 parcel machines located throughout Poland.
