Introduction of customs duty on honey from Ukraine
This amount is higher than the corresponding tariff rate quota (TRQ) from the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Therefore, until the end of 2024, the EU erga omnes duty will apply to honey imports from Ukraine.
From 1 January to 5 June 2025, honey imports from Ukraine will be subject to a duty-free TRQ of 18,507.32 tonnes. If this amount is reached, the European Commission should re-activate the automatic safeguard mechanism, i.e. introduce the EU erga omnes duty.
