Cucumbers from Kėdainiai canning factory – in Ukrainian jars

Kėdainių konservų fabriko agurkėliai – ukrainietiškuose stiklainiuose

The pickled and pickled gherkins of the Kėdainiai cannery are canned in Ukrainian jars this season, just like last year.

The mountain of clear glass jars lined up in front of the administrative premises of the Kėdainiai canning factory literally melts in the eyes.

Ukrainian jars came to Kedainii from the glass factories of Dnipro, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia.

"By buying jars from Ukraine, we stimulate the economy of this country. We bought Ukrainian jars right away for the whole cucumber canning season.

Zita Petkevičienė, head of the production and supply chain of the Kėdainiai canning factory.

We brought them to the factory right before the Polish farmers' protests, so you can say that even this season's cucumber jars have their own history," says Zita Petkevičienė, head of the production and supply chain of the Kėdainiai canning factory.

By the end of the summer, the Kėdainiai canning factory will process about 1,700 tons of cucumbers and produce almost three million jars of pickled and pickled cucumbers of 15 recipes.

For the production of these cucumbers, the Kėdainiai canning factory exclusively uses only fresh, not dried, spices.
