Cooper: Russians have already bought 380 tons of berries this summer

The delivery service from stores and restaurants “Cooper” has studied the demand for seasonal berries and fruits. This summer, Russians most often buy cherries, blackberries and currants, and apricots and nectarines as fruits. The leading cities in demand are Moscow, St. Petersburg , Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnodar.

In the summer, residents of the country have already ordered more than 380 tons of berries for home delivery. This is 12% more than a year earlier. Cherries are most often chosen – they were included in every second order with berries. Compared to 2023, it was purchased by 19% more.

In terms of demand growth, blackberries are in first place. It was ordered 3.3 times more than in July last year. In second place are currants (2.7 times), in third place are raspberries (1.7 times), in fourth place are cherries (1.5 times), and in fifth place are gooseberries (1.4 times). Sales of grapes and blueberries also increased by 1.9 times. Red currants are bought more often than black currants, and the Kishmish grape variety is preferred.

Russians bought 12% more fruit compared to last summer. The most popular fruits in July are seasonal apricots and nectarines. They were purchased 43% and 22% more often, respectively. Traditionally, more than half of the fruits purchased are bananas (25%), apples (16%) and lemons (10%).
