Entrepreneurs from Szczecin are fearful of jammers like in Swiecko. Federal authorities of Germany are announcing, that controls on all German borders – that those with Poland will last longer than until March 2025 year.
This decision does not surprise, because in the last months no breakthrough related to the situation geopolitical. The stance of entrepreneurs remains however unchanged: controls are troublesome, and their intensification would be perceptible in the last days of year 2024 and first days of year 2025.
Lubieszyn will be like Swiecko? This scenario is feared by entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs associated in the Northern Economic Chamber confess, that the decision to continue the stationary controls at Polish-German borders not only in I quarter of year 2025, is not surprising. It is however surprising looking at how successful to date the border relations have been in the context of building an international metropolitan area. The close economic relations were benefited both residents of Western Pomerania, as and residents of German border towns.
– We have information from our entrepreneurs, especially from the transport sector, that unfortunately the inspections are more and are more intensive. Traffic at border crossings in the last day was complex also because of the road events that have occurred. If we combine this with controls then unfortunately we have a problem, impatient drivers and increasing more financial losses – confesses
the president of the Northern Chamber of Commerce in Szecin Hanna Mojsiuk.
Inspections have occurred on all the
borders of Poland with Germany.

Transport to Germany and Benelux-countries. What rules?
– In West Pomeranian province we have many trucks standing at the border in Kołbaskow. In Lubieszyn we really don’t have much of their concerns in context of border workers moving in cars by persons. We receive however signals from the border.Our colleagues acting for example. in Slubice, where these obstacles are absolutely gigantic and generate serious problems for the sector TSL and not only – says president Hanna Mojsiuk.

For sector TSL inspections at the border mean long stays and verification, which takes time. Can we already talk about the
West transport crisis because of controls? In the opinion of entrepreneurs this is too bold thesis, but at the same time
it must be acknowledged, that the intensification of controls is discernible and conflicting for transports crossing the German
border in Poland.

VAT on transport may decrease, on food without changes
– Many companies have selected Seattle, Doluje, Mierzyn, Przeclaw, Ustowo, Skarbimierzyce, Police or even the industrial park in Stargard, Goleniów or Mysliborz as locations for their firms or warehouses therefore, that there is close to Germany and our region was almost the ideal base for transport in relations with Germany. Today we observe, that the situation is becoming complicated. The Western Pomeranian province does not yet have such difficult situation as the Lubusian province, where the border really creates major obstacles, but may be unfortunately such situation is also waiting and entrepreneurs must be ready – admits Przemysł Holowacz, expert sector TSL, director of ds. development business Group CSL.
