QR codes allow consumers to interact more with the brand and build their engagement. What's more, QR codes support sustainable development goals. They allow for tracing the origin of products, reducing waste, increasing availability, reducing CO2 consumption and facilitating informed shopping.
The winners will be selected by an independent jury, which, in addition to representatives of GS1 Polska, will include experts in the field of sustainable development: Magdalena Olborska from Samsung, prof. dr hab. Bolesław Rok from the Leon Kozminski University, Bartłomiej Gola from SpeedUp, Marcin Barański from VOX and Tomasz Łukasik, representative of Nestle.
This year's edition of the competition refers to the global revolution in the retail industry, consisting of replacing traditional barcodes with modern 2D codes, including QR codes with GS1 standards. 2D codes enable the provision of full data on the product, including composition, origin and recycling principles, responding to the growing information needs of customers.
GS1 Polska is part of the international not-for-profit organization GS1, which operates in 150 countries. It introduced standardized barcodes, which are now used worldwide.
