Knitwear manufacturer AS Qualitex, which has been operating in Sindi for almost 30 years, is ceasing operations and laying off 34 employees who remained at the plant after the previous large-scale layoffs last autumn.

About six months ago, the company reported its difficult situation to the Tori Parish Government. According to Lauri Luide, the communications adviser of the Parish Government, the fabric manufacturer stated that it was difficult for a small company in a globalized industry to cope with the same volumes.
