The police once again appeal to caution when shopping online. This time, the victim of fraudsters was a resident of Wojcieszów near Złotoryja, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, who purchased fuel online. The man lost over PLN 4,000.
The injured party found a sales offer on an advertising website. After determining the details of the transaction, the man ordered eco-pea coal and pellets, and then transferred the money to the bank account indicated in the advertisement. Unfortunately, the buyer did not receive the ordered fuel. All attempts to contact the seller proved unsuccessful. As a result, the man lost over PLN 4,000.
"A great offer and a low price are signals that may indicate that we are dealing with a fraud. Remember about limited trust in unknown sellers. Let's check their credibility and the opinions of existing customers. It is best to arrange details directly with the seller at the company's headquarters and pay for the ordered goods only upon receipt. – advise police officers from the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja.
