Unfortunately, many people cannot afford Christmas shopping. To help them, Lidl Poland once again organized pre-Christmas food collections in its stores. Thanks to cooperation with the Federation of Polish Food Banks and Caritas, the collections took place in several hundred Lidl stores across Poland. Customers and employees of the chain were able to add food products to special baskets, which were located in Lidl Poland stores on November 29-30 and December 6-7, 2024.
During the 4 days, nearly 90 tons of food items were collected. During the collections, products were collected that do not need to be stored in special conditions and have a long shelf life: flour, pasta, sugar, nuts, honey, porridge, canned goods, candy, oil, coffee, rice, etc.
Traditionally, in the pre-Christmas period, we organize food collections to help those most in need. We would like to thank our partners – the Federation of Polish Food Banks and Caritas organizations in Poland – for organizing this great event, as well as other activities we undertake together to not waste food, educate and help others. We also thank our employees and customers for their willingness to help. Thanks to this commitment, people in need will be able to fully enjoy Christmas – says Aleksandra Robaszkiewicz, Director of Corporate Affairs and CSR at Lidl Poland.
