After launch, the 13th distribution center of the retail chain will serve about 130 stores in the Nizhny Novgorod region; when it reaches full capacity, the logistics center will provide more than 200 stores.
The area of the distribution center is 14 thousand square meters. Today, products come here from more than 300 suppliers. The uninterrupted operation of the logistics center will be ensured by up to 140 employees and about 60 pieces of equipment; the complex is capable of processing up to 1,100 tons of products per day.
The distribution center has been modernized into a multi-temperature warehouse with storage areas for all main categories of goods: groceries, fruits and vegetables, fresh category, frozen goods, alcohol. The Chizhik distribution center has launched a warehouse management system (WMS), which will significantly simplify work with goods and logistics processes.
“By the end of the year, the network will launch another 8 new distribution centers in the regions where it operates,” the statement says.
