In July, Chinese electronics manufacturer TCL stopped supplying components for assembling televisions to Russia, Kommersant writes, citing the words of a representative of the Voronezh Kvant plant, one of the brand’s contract manufacturers in Russia.

Presumably, TV manufacturer TCL took this step amid sanctions risks. Due to the likelihood of secondary sanctions from the European Union and the United States, the company refused to supply its components to Russian contract manufacturers Kvant and STI Group.
The production of TCL TVs, as well as Xiaomi, which previously stopped supplying components to the Russian Federation, can be launched in Kazakhstan, from where supplies to the Russian Federation are possible. But due to logistics, the cost of production may increase by 10–20%.
Market participants noted that Russian factories will have enough stock of components for assembling televisions until November. Some companies are considering freezing production, which could lead to a shortage of devices in the country.
