ARiMR reminds that producers of wheat, rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures who sold grain between January 1 and May 31, 2024 could apply for support in the recruitment period that ended in June. On July 12, 2024, ARiMR started issuing decisions on granting aid and transferring funds. So far, almost 40,000 have been transferred to accounts. farmers received nearly PLN 450 million – today transfers worth PLN 230 million were made.
Who receives cereal subsidies?
The aid was intended for farmers who, between January 1 and May 31, 2024, sold wheat, rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures to entities operating in the field of cereal trading, purchase or processing of cereals or entities purchasing cereals in connection with their production. animal. In addition, those applying for this support should have submitted an application for direct payments in 2023, and the farm they run must meet the criterion of a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise. The total area of crops for which aid may be granted may not exceed 300 ha. When an agricultural production cooperative or a farmers' cooperative applies for support, the limit is set at its request as the product of 300 and the number of members of a given cooperative.
How much lower cereal subsidies? There is a correction factor
The budget allocated for cereal subsidies is PLN 2.1 billion. Over 187,000 applications were submitted. applications, and since the resulting amount exceeded the available limit, it was necessary to set a correction coefficient – it is 0.92.
The amount of subsidies depends on the time period in which the grain and its type were sold. For farmers who sold grain between January 1 and March 10, 2024, the rates are:
- PLN 1,080/ha of wheat;
PLN 740/ha for rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures.
However, if the farmer sold his grain between March 11 and May 31, 2024, the rates are: - PLN 1,620/ha of wheat;
PLN 1,110/ha for rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures.
The amount of aid that a farmer can receive is calculated based on two algorithms:
- the area of cereal crops (wheat, rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures) resulting from the application for direct payments submitted in 2023 is multiplied by the aid rate;
- the number of tons of cereals sold, resulting from invoices or copies of invoices or their duplicates confirming such a transaction in a given period, is divided by 5.4 for wheat or 3.7 for other cereals covered by support – the result of this action is multiplied by the aid rate.
In both cases, the result should be multiplied by the correction factor, and the lower of the amounts calculated on the basis of these two methods will be the one that the farmer will receive.
Will there be help for farmers who lost their crops after the storms?
Straight from Brussels, Minister Czesław Siekierski assured that the flow of financial resources to farms was still ongoing. There is also more money on the horizon, i.e. help after sudden weather phenomena in spring. During which fruit farmers and vine growers suffered.
However, the weather is still unsettled, as we saw in mid-July, when, among others, farmers from the province Świętokrzyskie province lost their crops after the storms. The situation in the region is difficult for many farms. Local activists are constantly appealing for help. The minister assured that nothing has been decided, but the talks must also pass through the government level.

There will be no harvest, the harvest festival is canceled. And never help for a saint?
– We will decide on this later, when there is complete information from the field. Besides, the second half of the budget is already here. We are already working on the budget for 2025, so we will offer this support depending on the size of these budget losses from next year. There are no decisions, we are conducting talks with the Ministry of Finance and at the government level – explained Minister Siekierski in Brussels.
ARiMR is doing everything it can
– For now, we are doing what we were supposed to do. By the end of June, we had paid out approximately 97%. funds in terms of support under the CAP 2023, drought, subsidies for corn, we pay subsidies for grain, so there is still some support for agriculture, which results from the fact that in 2023 there was low profitability, high production costs, high fertilizer prices , energy prices. This influenced the level of profitability and low profitability of farms. There are no resolutions or decisions yet. This is all under analysis. There were storms, there may be more. There was hail near Jędrzejów and replaced combine harvesters because it threshed the grain – added the minister.
We will inform you about possible forms of support after the storms.
