The Paris 2024 Olympic Games start on July 26
The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will start on July 26 at 7:30 p.m. local time. The host planned a 6 km parade along the Seine, ending at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. About 300,000 viewers will watch the event live. The athletes' competition will last until August 11.

Paris 2024 Olympic Games the cheapest in years
The French will spend 9 billion US dollars to organize the largest sports event in the world. This is nearly six times less than the most expensive in Beijing and the organization of the XXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris will cost – according to data from the Polish Economic Institute.
So far, the most expensive Olympic Games were the Beijing Games, organized in 2008. They cost USD 52.7 billion. The Japanese spent $35 billion on organizing the last Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.
About half of the costs related to organizing the Games in Paris amount to USD 4.5 billion. is to be allocated to infrastructure and sports facilities (adaptation of existing arenas). The second part – also approximately USD 4.5 billion. – these are operational costs, expenses related to the maintenance of transport networks, accommodation, security and the organization of the opening ceremony of the Games.
