Carrefour is giving away PAYBACK points – you can win 1,000 points
From March 25 to April 30 this year. In over 50 Carrefour stores, for the second time, customers could donate their used clothes in exchange for e-vouchers worth PLN 10 to be used in the chain's stores. To receive a coupon, each customer had to bring a minimum of 10 pieces of used clothing to the store.
13.6 tons of used clothes
The 968 parcels from Carrefour stores from all over Poland donated to Ubranie Do Dadani contained as many as 13.6 tons of used clothes. This result, 3.5 times greater than in the case of the first edition, translated into savings of over 89 million liters of water and over 184 tons of CO2, which were not emitted into the atmosphere. Clothes introduced into the second circulation also amount to 13.6 thousand. PLN that the store chain and Ubranie Do Oddania donated to the Las na Always Foundation, known for its activities to protect forests and establish new biodiverse forest areas throughout Poland.
– As part of the second edition of our campaign organized with Ubranie Do Oddania, we wanted to emphasize even more how important an element of our development is to support the circular economy. We have been introducing innovative solutions in our stores for a long time that help reuse valuable raw materials such as plastic, glass or aluminum – says Sylwester Mroczek, Development Manager of the Format and Commercial Concepts Department at Carrefour Polska. – Our cooperation with Ubranie Do Oddania has once again proven how easy it is to jointly deal with another category of waste – textiles. We are proud that we managed to draw the attention of our customers to the problem of improper disposal of clothes. This great result also allowed us, together with UDO, to provide financial support to the Las na Always foundation. We would like to thank everyone who took part in our campaign and contributed to its success. – he adds.
Throughout the duration of the campaign, over 5,000 Carrefour customers, but also customers of other retail chains, took advantage of it. In total, customers were awarded PLN 58,000 for their ecological attitude during the spring wardrobe inspections after winter "Don't throw away and return it to Carrefour". zloty. Among the cities with the largest number of redeemed e-coupons, Warsaw, Wrocław and Kraków were on the podium.
