On January 10 January the Competition Department approved changes in the methodology for calculating the rate for the balance electricity service provided by Elering. According to these changes, for five months consumers and producers will not pay for the costs of frequency reserves, these costs will

10 January Department of Competition approved changes in the methodology for calculation of the tariff for balance electricity service, provided by Elering. According to these changes, for five months consumers and producers will not pay for the costs of frequency reserves, these

costs will be borne by Elering.

With the changes in the methodology are introducing a mitigating measure, which will be in effect february 1 February 2025 to 30 June 2025 year. In this period, the costs of purchasing frequency reserves (standby capacity) for producers and consumers will be covered by the revenues of Elering from network congestion. So, until 30 June 2025 year consumers and producers will not pay for frequency reserves.
