It is assumed that investments in the construction of the warehouse could amount to approximately 7.8 billion rubles. At the moment, several developers are “at an advanced stage of development” in negotiations with Ozon.
The press service of the online retailer confirmed plans to construct the facility using the build-to-suit model. Applications from potential participants will be accepted until August 9. Ozon also emphasized that investments in the development of logistics infrastructure are related to the need for fast delivery.
The warehouse will be built in Kaluga “by the efforts and at the expense of the developer according to Ozon’s technical specifications,” and in the future the company will lease it. The first stage of the warehouse is planned to be launched in the first and second quarters of 2026, the second – in the first half of 2027.
“In order to quickly deliver goods anywhere in the country, we continue to invest in the development of logistics infrastructure with a focus on the regions. At the end of the second quarter of 2024, the area of our logistics infrastructure increased to 2.8 million square meters, and 134 million Russians have a pick-up point within walking distance of their homes. This strategy brings results: every fourth order for Ozon from April to July we delivered to cities with a population of up to 50 thousand inhabitants,” explained the marketplace’s press service .
In June 2024, Ozon also announced the construction of a warehouse in the Tomsk region with an area of 20 thousand sq.m. The sorting center is planned to open in 2025.
