Burberry poaches Costa Coffee chief information officer

Burberry has appointed Costa Coffee executive Charlotte Baldwin as its new chief information officer.

Baldwin, who will join the luxury fashion retailer at the end of March, will be responsible for leading its global technology team while reporting to chief executive Joshua Schulman.

She currently works as Costa Coffee’s global chief digital and information officer, overseeing its technology, digital and data organisation.

Prior to this, she was the chief information, digital and transformation officer of Bupa Insurance and previously held senior roles at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Pearson and Thomson Reuters.

Schulman said: “Charlotte is a highly experienced technology and digital leader with a track record of leading large-scale digital transformation.

“I am delighted that Charlotte will be joining our leadership team and look forward to working with her to advance our technological capabilities and drive our strategy forward.”

Last week Burberry posted a smaller than expected 7% decline in third-quarter retail revenue, as it continues its strategic transformation to drive long-term growth.
