Datagro forecasts that Brazil could harvest a record 167.09 million tonnes of soybeans in the 2024/25 fiscal year, up 11.8% from the previous season, APK-Inform reports.
Analysts expect yields to rise to 3.55 t/ha. The area sown is also expected to increase – for the 18th year in a row and this time by 1.8% – to 47 million hectares. The Brazilian market has been experiencing a soybean boom since 2020, which guaranteed producers decent income. There is no indication that the profitability of this production has suddenly dropped.
