As reported by Schweine.net, the Brandenburg Ministry of Agriculture has decided that the so-called Bachen premium granted for the shooting of wild boars in areas threatened by ASF will increase from the current 80 euros to 100 euros per adult animal. The aim of the support is, of course, to encourage hunters to reduce the number of wild boars, which is intended to stop the ASF epidemic.
Bonus for wild boars that are not suitable for sale
According to the ministry, in the 2024/25 hunting year, a so-called contribution fee for wild boars will be paid in all districts where there are zones at risk of ASF. For a wild boar that has been hunted but is not suitable for sale and is transferred to an official game collection point, people entitled to hunt can apply for a premium of 50 euros.

Brandenburg has been fighting ASF for four years
ASF appeared in Brandenburg in September 2020. However, according to the ministry, the recent outbreaks in Oberspreewald-Lausitz and the current ASF situation in West Germany clearly show that the disease is still a problem.
