On Wednesday, the benchmark interest rate for most home loans, the six-month Euribor, fell to its lowest in 18 months at 3.276%. In just three months, the Euribor has fallen by almost 13%.

The Euribor interest rate on the interbank money market is linked to the European Central Bank's (ECB) key interest rates. The ECB's governing council met on Thursday to discuss its second interest rate cut this year. The final decision will be announced on Thursday afternoon, September 12.
