Popularity of biostimulators in Poland is growing
as results from analysis by Michael Gazdecki of the company Kynetec, which does research the agricultural and veterinary market, Poland is among countries, in which there is the increasing area of crops, treated with biostimulants. According to analysis “European Union: Biostimulants Pose as Alternatives in Mature Market”, the use of biostimulants in agricultural crops is steadily increasing, especially in countries with a well developed agricultural sector.
In Poland the area of crops treated with biostimulants is already significant, and what more – is growing from year to year. In 2019 the year in Poland of the total surface of the most laws 4.7 proc. were at least on one time treated by biostimulators. Some years later, in the year 2023, biostimulators were used on 13 proc. from the complete areal of key species in plant production (cereals, corn, crops, beets, crops fruit, fruits berries, vegetables). For comparison in the same period in France the share of biostimulated crops in total areal plant production increased from 4.8 percent. to 9.3 proc.
In the study as biostimulants these were products, which stimulate growth and development of plants
and contain at least one of the following substances: humic substances, materials organic, components of mineral
origin(e.g..
silicon),
plant extracts,
free
amino acids,
microorganisms.

What are and how may act biostimulators?
In what cases are we most likely to use biostimulators?
As indicates a report by Michael Gazdecki, the distribution of biostimulators in the European Union is influenced by the followinglimiting the possibility of using conventional products in agricultural crops, as also unpredictable weather, related to climate changes. In these realities it seems that the capabilities of traditional means of production have reached their maximum, and the situation on the market in increasingly shapes innovations in the portfolio of companies supplying agriculture.
W What crops do farmers most often use biostimulators? In Poland of
all crops, in which biostimulators are applied, almost half fall on cereals. High places also are thistle and
corn.
