Glass bottles in the deposit system will come later. Big change
Kaucja.pl – National Deposit System – coalition of future shareholders
Coalition of future shareholders of Kaucja.pl – National Deposit System is a venture of the following companies: Coca-Cola HBC Polska, Colian, Grupa Maspex, Nałęczów Zdrój, Nestle Polska, Orangina Schweppes Polska, Oshee Polska, Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers Poland, Red Bull, Van Pur , Zbyszko Company and Żywiec Zdrój.
Entrepreneurs are currently conducting preparatory work to establish a company and start its operations. It will be the first operator of a deposit system with such a large shareholding of beverage companies that join forces to achieve environmental goals, which is important because the regulator has imposed on producers the obligation to create a deposit system and collect packaging in this system.
The companies want the future operator to operate broadly also for other beverage producers in Poland who would like to cooperate with it.
Deposit system – the most effective method of collection
At the same time, they are still actively participating in public dialogue regarding the target shape of the deposit system. They want the solutions developed to be friendly primarily to consumers and stores, as well as other places where drinks are sold.
The deposit system is currently the most effective collection method, which will reduce the amount of waste in the environment while providing beverage companies with valuable material for the production of new packaging. It is necessary to meet another requirement imposed on producers by the SUP directive – from January 1, 2025, all plastic beverage packaging must contain a minimum of 25% recycled material. Producers gathered in the coalition want the raw material collected under the Polish deposit system to remain in Poland and be used for local production.
