Since the end of last year, the state communications operator Beltelecom began opening offline stores selling equipment and electronics. The company intends to actively develop the retail trade area.
Beltelecom entered retail trade back in 2021. Then the online store shop.beltelecom.by began operating, where the company offered its subscribers to purchase equipment for home and outdoor activities. The assortment includes many items: TVs, smartphones, tablets, audio systems, laptops, computer equipment, game consoles, robotic vacuum cleaners, upright vacuum cleaners, robotic window cleaners, electric scooters, coffee machines, grills, juicers, electric dryers, smart speakers and much more.
You can purchase goods in installments up to 24 months without a down payment. Installment plans are available only to existing subscribers of the company.
By the end of 2023, the company went further and opened two stores under the BELTELECOMshop brand in large shopping centers in Minsk. In April of this year, the facility appeared in Gomel.
In his commentary to ibMedia.by , Beltelecom Deputy General Director for Economics and Commercial Affairs Sergei Turomsha said that retail accounts for more than 5% of the company’s revenue structure.
Despite the fact that several large operators operate in this niche, interest from subscribers is growing. Therefore, the company decided to develop a network of physical stores and increase the range. At the same time, Beltelecom began to rebuild its logistics and expand its warehouse space.
According to him, the company does not have the task of opening offline stores anywhere. The goal is to build an effective and profitable business. It is planned to place stores in well-traveled places; the number of such places is small.
