In 2023, NIK concluded that as a result of Bielmlek's bankruptcy, the value of funds lost by public finance sector entities was almost PLN 44 million in the case of NFOŚiGW, over PLN 23 million in the case of KOWR, and BOŚ, whose majority shareholders are also public finance sector entities, lost over PLN 15 million.
Has anyone been held accountable for the losses in the Bielmlek case? Not yet. The prosecutor's office has brought charges against Tadeusz Romańczuk (the long-time president of Bielmlek, and later deputy minister of agriculture) several times, and in 2021 he was even detained by the CBA. At that time, the court did not grant the request for temporary arrest. It assessed some of the charges as "misguided", including the charge of acting in order to achieve financial gain and cause large-scale damage – informs Interia.

Tadeusz Romańczuk maintains that he is innocent and that the Bielmlek case is a takeover of a cooperative to the detriment of the state. Ardanowski thinks similarly, telling Interia that in his opinion "the prosecutor's office will have to dismiss" the case of charges concerning Romańczuk. The prosecutor's office's proceedings are ongoing. In July this year, Tadeusz Romańczuk heard new charges. They concern scandals at the National Support Centre for Agriculture and the suspected embezzlement of PLN 170 million. After Romańczuk took office as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, his daughter Paulina Z. replaced him. In the meantime, Bielmlek lost financial liquidity.
