Avito analysts studied sales of smart home components in the first half of 2024 and compared them with data from the first half of 2023. It turned out that such devices have generally become more popular, and robot vacuum cleaners are in the greatest demand .

Sales of smart home devices increased by 17% over the year, with resale sales increasing by 10% and new sales by 23%. The top sales by sales share were robot vacuum cleaners (46%), smart speakers (36%) and smart home systems (9%). Smart speaker sales increased the most — by 47%. Prices for various smart home sensors decreased by 13% over the year.
In the first half of 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, sales of smart home devices on Avito increased by 17%. Moreover, sales of used devices in this category increased by 10%, and new ones by 23%.
The most popular representatives of the smart home are robot vacuum cleaners. They accounted for almost half (46%) of all sales. Modern models help to do not only dry but also wet cleaning, and some of them even have a self-cleaning function. Over the year, sales of robot vacuum cleaners increased by 7%.
Smart speakers are in second place. They accounted for 36% of sales in the category. Today, smart speakers can not only control music, but also read out the weather forecast, news, and answers to online queries. They can also be used to control the entire smart home – turn on the vacuum cleaner, boil the kettle, adjust the light intensity, open and close the curtains, and much more. Sales of smart speakers have grown by 47% over the year.
The third place in terms of sales share is occupied by the smart home system itself (9%). It is usually a set of various devices and sensors – for example, smart sockets, lamps, electric drive for curtains and an electronic lock, as well as sensors for temperature, light, motion, smoke, leakage and others. Sales of such systems increased by 2% year-on-year.
Next come smart bulbs, which account for 8% of sales. They can be customized by operating time, intensity, temperature, and color.
The top 5 is completed by various individual sensors with a share of 1%. Their sales have increased by 4% over the year. They can cost differently depending on the type. Over the past year, prices for all sensors have decreased by an average of 13%.
