Avito Services and the ORO marketing research agency found out what the market of service providers in Russia looks like from an economic point of view.

In total, 6.7 million providers are involved in the market across the country, which fulfill 3.4 billion orders per year. The annual turnover of the services market, according to researchers, is 16.2 trillion rubles.
60% of small companies and 53% of medium and large companies noted that the volume of orders increased in 2023. At the same time, 49% of surveyed providers expect an increase in orders next year.
The services market in Russia is a large industry with a trillion-dollar annual turnover. Private contractors are the most numerous — they occupy 78% of the market. However, such service providers generate only a third of the total revenue (5 trillion rubles). Representatives of microbusiness earn the most — 10 trillion rubles, or 63% of the total revenue of the services market.
"Private traders have literally captured the services market, in some categories their share of all providers is at least 90% (for example, domestic staff and animal care services, educational and IT services). In turn, micro-business , being the second type of provider in terms of order volume and the first in terms of revenue, is made up of sole proprietors working alone by a third. As a result, the services market from the performers side is represented by individuals by almost ¾ (73%) ," said Ekaterina Blintsova, project manager of the customer experience and purchasing behavior study department at ORO.
On average, private individuals earn 79 thousand rubles per month with an average order value of 34.1 thousand rubles. In turn, micro, small and medium-sized companies earn an average of 667 thousand rubles per month with an average check of 124.1 thousand rubles per month.

Most performers work in the beauty and health sector. The second most popular area for performers is IT, design and marketing. The education sector closes the top three. In terms of order volume, transportation, beauty and educational services prevail.
The leader in annual turnover in 2023 is the construction industry (3.3 trillion rubles). In the IT, design and marketing sphere, the turnover is 1.9 trillion rubles. The top three profitable spheres are completed by transportation services with an annual turnover of 1.6 trillion rubles.
A third of customers expect to receive the service on the same day, 10% – within an hour (primarily in “urgent” services (transportation, garbage removal, household).
