Second round, additional funds
The Data Transmission Farm Finance Program is now entering its second round, and the Australian Farmers’ Association (NFF) has particularly welcomed the budget increase of around €2 million.
Australian farmers are to receive an extra €9 million to help them adopt advanced connected machinery and sensor technology, Australian Communications Minister Michelle Rowland has announced.
What does the grant cover?
Connectivity equipment such as antennas is therefore eligible, especially for so-called low-power wide area networks (LPWAN). Environmental monitoring and operational management technologies are also promoted. This includes, for example, weather stations and cameras, as well as technologies for automating irrigation systems and grain ventilation systems. Other eligible expenses include subscriptions to data aggregation platforms and software, and training costs.
